The exposition of the museum was built in 1995 and tells the story of Varakhsha - the city flourished in the early Middle Ages (IV-VII centuries AD). Varakhsha was the residence of the rulers of Bukhara - Bukhara-Hudatov to VII century AD, is located 40 km north-west of Bukhara and was the last station before the eight-day crossing of the Kyzyl Kum desert on the road from Bukhara to Khorezm.
Disposition of the city consisted of three parts: the citadel - palace rulers shahristan - the center of the city with houses of rich citizens and rabad - vocational outskirts of town.
The exhibition presents fragments of carved pieces of the palace of the rulers (VII-IX century), pottery, jewelry (X-XI centuries)
